Permanent Costume Exhibition: Traces of the Ephemeral
The exhibition will continue throughout 2017-2018 theatre season. Part of the rich wardrobe collection of the NTNG has acquired a permanent home in the city centre, easily accessible to the public, whose interest confirmed the Theatre’s expectations.
Costumes of high aesthetic value, from landmark plays staged at the National Theatre of Northern Greece during the 56 years of its existence, are displayed in specially designed display cases that blend into the space of the foyer. The exhibition is curated by the set and costume designer Ioulia Stavridou.
The exhibition comprises 80 costumes, designed by renowned Greek designers including: Giorgos Vakalo, Vassilis Vassiliadis, Spyros Vassiliou, Denny Vachlioti, Apostolos Vettas, Nikos Engonopoulos, Liza Zaimi, Giorgos Ziakas, Kleovoulos Klonis, Kenny McLellan, Ioanna Manoledaki, Giannis Metzikof, Dimitris Mytaras, Nikos Sachinis, Vassilis Fotopoulos, Dionysis Fotopoulos et al.
The NTNG Costume Exhibition is part of the Partnership Agreement Operational Programme “Central Macedonia 2014-2020” (ESPA 2014-2020) and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Public Investment Programme (PIP). For this reason, all the informative material relating to the exhibition is published in both Greek and English.
