The play is based on the short story of Georgios Viziinos 'who was the killer of my brother', whose myth is based on experiences from the life of the classic dramatist. Greeks and Turks meet in the bridge of Lule Bourgaz, where the foundations of a future bridge, which will unite people, are being laid. The mother of Viziinos, who is getting sacrificed, so as these foundations to be laid, a classic Greek woman from Thrace, that the centuries of slavery have armed her with patience and resignation and with faith in the high human ideals, is the central character of the play. Behind the play, the consciousness of the writer is discerned, which also takes part in the action. The heroes live what they want to convey us. For this reason, besides, the short story the theatrical play comes from is written in the first person. The events are presented and commented directly so as the viewer to be led to the same unanswered question that occupies also the soul of the writer and at the same time to be kept in the necessary distance from the events taking place in front of him.
